Back in 2007 when we were searching for a workers compensation carrier we wanted to find a carrier that would work for both our business needs and act as a benefit to our employees.  We found this with the AICC and their proactive and knowledgeable team. The AICC does an excellent job in helping us provide a safe work atmosphere for our employees with on-site safety visits and providing us with the latest safety communications. They help us prevent the accident before it happens.

In the event that we have had to make a claim the dedicated staff at the AICC has made the process seamless. They have helped our employees get the assistance they need and get them back to work safely.

What we have found with AICC, and its sponsoring organization NARFA, is more valuable than upfront savings on a policy. The team at AICC, NARFA and FutureComp have our employees best interests as the basis for decisions and policies. This starts at the inception of the policy with an inspection of the facilities for safety hazards. One must remember an incident that does not happen will save you more money than any savings on the front end of a policy. As they say, bad things happen to good people and if there is an incident the AICC team has always worked with us to get the employee back to work and settle the claim as quickly as possible. Our phone calls were returned quickly and we were kept informed of the progress on the claim. This NEVER happened with any other provider I have had in the previous 22 years of having workers comp insurance.

Of course money is important, there are up-front rate deviations and there are dividends! I estimate that to date, we have or will receive over $33,000 in dividends. Yes this is important, but not as important as having a safe work environment and getting the employee back to work quickly as humanly possible. This is where the true value lies. At least for me and it should be for anyone that really thinks about it.

Over the past 15 years we have periodically entertained competitive quotes from other non-captive insurance companies. The dedicated nurse case managers and claims adjusters take an unprecedented interest in each of their claims; working to ensure both the injured employee is receiving the best care they need and that when ready, they to get back to work. Their communication with the company is also, quite thorough. They regularly update us on the status of the injured employees’ recovery and collaborating with the employer to identify any light duty jobs the employee could participate.

The AICC also has a dedicated Loss Control Manager, who regularly physically inspects the facilities and review specific opportunities to improve or mitigate potential losses. They work hard to help keep the safety culture in the forefront of all of our employees’ minds, helping to keep our experience modification low, and ultimately saving us premium dollars each year. The Loss Control Manager is also available for questions and help addressing safety related issues outside of the regular audit visits.

The AICC has also taken advantage of its sponsoring organization, NARFA, and providing access for all our employees and their families, to an Employee Assistance Program. Something that has been especially welcomed during the past year of dealing with COVID-19 related issues.
